This hobby is amazing as is the Hub, as the collective have come to the fore again
Mattjb spotted something he had an inkling about in a group photo of finds made by my Detecting friend.
New photos of item added, then Easy and Cath suggested Medieval brooch.
Cleaned up a little more to enhance detail.

Spent a couple of hrs trawling through the PAS database, as soon realised that due to your suggestions, the "Fin " on the back was a catchplate.
Has come back as an early Saxon Florid Cruciform brooch fragment,

Have to admit, thought this was nothing. Would have been handed back on Monday and possibly binned.
Oldest find from this field by another 600 years.
Always worth posting a photo of everything.
