Those pre conquest roman coins, is it thought that the Romans had them with them and were still using them at the time of the conquest even though they’d been around for a fair while already? Or is it that they came here through trading pre Roman conquest? Might explain why the two you’ve found haven’t been found near any other roman stuff.

I think the main school of thought is that yes, they were in circulation trade wise pre conquest as there was obviously cross channel trade and in some cases quite close "Celtic" relations but that the high silver content in these early coins made them much more valuable than the later de-valued silver coins... so much better coins to hang on to and indeed "hoard" if you had them!
