Found what i thought was a fertiliser bag seal, which was showing quite a bit of detail, compared to the norm. Checked on StuE`s database by tapping in XX on the search button and soon found a match, which astounded me. Not only was it a lot older than i thought but it had a different purpose.

Fairly rare find, always worth checking your lead seals.
Cheers,

That's very cool, doesn't surprise me that post bags had this kind of seal back in the day, but I haven't seen one before and I I hadn't connected the dots.

Nice find.

I didn't realise that a formal postal system was in place that far back. Great find
