I found this earlier today and almost chucked it in the scrap pile, but it had sort of a familiar look to although I could not place it…

A couple of other people on the dig suggested it’s a fragment of a very small fibula, with the round depression being where the pin would have been?

Any thoughts on that suggestion?

Don't think so, Pete, though it does look to have some decent age to it
