Found this yesterday on a new field. It’s pretty much a blank disk except for one tiny bit of detail. It’s the right size for a William sixpence but is razor sharp thin and feels like a hammered coin. I can’t see a match in Spinks for any with the bit of the reverse detail that’s left. The obverse seems to be completely blank.Any thoughts on what it is?

I’m just trying to get a feel for the age of finds on this field

Definitely Tudor - you can see a glimpse of the Tudor shield in the first image

Thanks A - I thought it might be but certainly wasn’t confident about making the call. Pleased with that as it confirms there’s older stuff there

Thanks John. I had hoped it was a Tudor one but the sizes and placement (to the edge) didn’t work quite right but if it was clipped that would explain it perfectly :D

I'm not so sure that the complete legend would have been clipped off, maybe foreign?

I've just spotted a fleur-de-lis in this corrected orientation so maybe in the hand you may recognise more matching detail.
