I love finding keys, specially the older casket keys
It sets my over active imagination off thinking:
What did the box contain?......who did it belong too?......how did it become lost in a random field?....
:ugeek:
This one i found last year

I quite agree Oxgirl , I found all three full Crotal bells near a small pond on different occasions .

Blimey, I never realised crotal bells were so much in demand :o Got a few nice ones (ringers, all) which were put on a cord and hung up by the back door in the old gaff. The pleasant tinkle whenever they were moved began as a novelty but got on me wick after a while, so the cord has been placed away from the door opening in the new gaff

That was mine, too, but I found one a few weeks ago :)

Never found a John coin, so that's top of the list now.

Don't think I'd describe them as "ordinary", Dukey. Mind you, it'd be nice to find so many that I did consider them as ordinary everyday finds

For once I hadn’t misspelt something because of this darn ipad :D and did mean pound not pond but most pounds were near water so the pond could be in the pound I guess. And, on drover routes, stops near water would be great hunting ground too
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

My last two were quite close to a pinfold.
Good things come to those who wait.
