Congratulations Ally, what a beautiful coin 😍. Do you sleep with it under your pillow ?
I remember telling you in our email correspondence that my first hammered
coin was an Athelstan of East Anglia and you were so enthusiastic about it and then said that you had yet to find a Saxon or Norman coin. And now you have! I’m so pleased for you!

Oh many conger-rats. Lovely lovely find. I don't get 'saxon' anymore sadly...but the equivalent is merovingian/carolingian and they are by far the most elusive. By the way, wishlists never run out of wishes. you just keep adding more. :D :clapping:

If your finds keep getting better, A, I'm going to have to seek you out and knobble you ;)

Oh, I got loads...

Ackers, Gelt, Spondulicks, Sovs, Dosh, Bangers, and so on...

I hide behind these terms to mask my bitter disappointment at never having found Saxon

This is not just a nice coin, it’s an absolute beauty and was worth waiting for. If I have to wait another couple of years for my first Saxon to look like this I’ll happily wait. OK not happily, but I’ll force myself to try.

Very well done :Star:
There you go HolzHammer told you Cath wouldn't be green-eyed at all🤣🤣🤣🤣
