Good evening all.
I hope you are all well and avoiding the worst of Arwen.

I found this item earlier in the week and suspect it is Roman brooch related, but would appreciate enlightenment...
Many thanks for looking!

EDIT: Post title changed now I know what it is...

What a little corker

Has the look of a La Tene type 1 and if so would be 4th-3rdC BC

Well, I'm somewhat taken aback!
The field I found this in has yeilded sporadic goodies and some surprises. Thank you each for the replies - and I've been trying to thank Metalurgy, but the Thank you thing appears to be playing up!
Fingers crossed, I'll be going there tomorrow, so rather excited.

That’s nice! Love the simple design of these early brooches
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Thanks both.
I'm rather chuffed with this find. I hope to find the rest of it someday...
I was hoping to go over there again today, but a combination of the weather and DIY duties said otherwise.
Wednesday's looking OK however....
Now that my work season is pretty much over until March I should get more opportunities to detect (mind you, I've got 'modernising' the kitchen looming!)
