It sounds like a lovely sentiment.. but to be honest if someone gave me a non working watch that wasn't gold or silver or even inscribed..
And they had just found it in a field..
Sorry to say in the nicest possible way it would end up in my wheelie bin! Not being horrid.. just realistic. :thumbsup:

Shame its not the real deal 😕

I've only ever found one gold watch, and it was rose gold but from the beach.

When that one came it it still shone, so realised after years of the salty stuff it was real

Caravelle was introduced in 1962 and in 1968 cracked the US and became the largest selling jewelled movement watch. So it’s likely this watch is 60s to 70s, good to know as I’d thought possibly 50s. That reads Caravelle...not caraselle.There ws a French made aircraft from the 1960's called a Caravelle,nice looking commercial jetliner,might be some association ?
