It sounds like a lovely sentiment.. but to be honest if someone gave me a non working watch that wasn't gold or silver or even inscribed..
And they had just found it in a field..

Shame its not the real deal 
I've only ever found one gold watch, and it was rose gold but from the beach.

Caravelle was introduced in 1962 and in 1968 cracked the US and became the largest selling jewelled movement watch. So it’s likely this watch is 60s to 70s, good to know as I’d thought possibly 50s. My neighbour and his family were the tenants there for about 100 years so I’ll give it to him as it’s a personal item
