Hi all
My lovely landowner has made some amazing finds on the land I’m allowed on. She has given them to me to ID (on the quiet I’ve bought a swanky display case for them all as a thank you/Christmas present for them.
The first is a coin which looks Celtic/Roman? It’s small, very thick. My eagle eyed daughter has copied the design on one side of it. It’s blank on the other.
The second looks like a toggle/weight? It has grooves decorating it.
More to come, huge thanks!

This is like one of those magic eye things and we may all see different things!

To my eye, if you rotate it a quarter turn anti-clockwise, the image appears to be that of a deer or horse?

The lead item is possibly a net weight.

Hi Becky,

I can't help you with any IDs but you seem to have managed to show a map screen shot...if this is your permission, you might want to delete it....

Regards,

Peter

Top one could be an angel coin weight.I've got a similar one. Have a look at Colchester treasure hunting coin weights on the net to see some examples

Thank you so much for the information. I’m blind as a bat and can barely see anything on it but I’ll get my daughter to review it!

Oh my goodness, that’s exactly what it looks like! My landowner isn’t going to like that at all, she thinks it’s an ancient coin 😂. Thank you so much!

Late 1400s so fairly old and much more uncommon than a roman coin! You or her just need to find the hammered gold angel that it would have weighed!
