Disappointing, but not surprising.

I was hoping to have a good ol' go with it over the Christmas/New Year break because I suspect that we'll be locked down again by the start of January

The statement "DEUS II is a fantastic metal detector, as you may have seen from various testers worldwide" is intriguing, I have only seen Gary's up to now. Has anyone got links to these other 'worldwide testers' vids, I'm sure we would like to see them?

Checkout Calabash Digger in the States, this guy runs a Nox and a Deus, he does coin hunting, relic hunting, diving and beach detecting.

Presuming you’ve seen Gary’s video on his own channel as well as the official XP ones? If not check out gardansolyn on youtube

There is also an interview with Gary B

Then the (better) ones are (most of the rest are really bad):

Calabash - he has about 7 or 8 videos testing stuff with it now

Sid’s - D2 v the Nox

I know the new Deus 2 looks great, and the specs and performance also look impressive (well done XP) but I must admit I find it funny how some of the test videos (not all) are trying to compare how this latest XP technological marvel matches up against the Equinox, a machine that is already five years old! In fact they are going to such extremes to match Minelab, that they are even copying the Minelab product release fiasco that we all remember so well :clapping:
This new offering from XP shouldn't just be matching the NOX , which is £600 cheaper by the way, but should be knocking it out of the park :o

And Field and Beach  you are spot on but I think they've run into that little problem called physics.

EDIT: Do you mean Gardonsolyn? That’s Gary Blackwell’s original YouTube channel he still uses too.
