Hello all
For those who helped me ID a number of finds in order that I could present them to my landowner, I want to say grateful thanks. She was thrilled with all the information that I presented her with to do with the finds.
Also, I found this strange little weight today. It weighs 0.06oz and has Ag (silver?) stamped on one side and is blank but scratched on the other. Is it some sort of weight to weigh silver? Huge thanks for any information.

Any chance the AG refers to Anthony Giles or his son (died 1730's)?

Thought it was a royal cypher - Crown over G. ;)

After Allectus ID’d it for me, if you flip the image there is a crown with G underneath and a sword representing the London hallmark. So it’s not Ag at all as I thought!

Always nice to find a trade weight

They nearly always have file marks on the back where excess metal was removed to get the weight exact

Of course! Now you’ve pointed it out it seems obvious! Thank you.
