Hi all, this is a first for me, I’ve never found a medieval horse pendant, so just a little bit chuffed with myself this evening :D found on my new permission in Warwickshire.
I’m not sure if the photos will be clear enough to show the detail?
It has a chequered pattern and in the deeper cut squares there are what looks like rampant beasts, so I guess they could be lions? There’s no evidence of enamel.
Any ideas?
Thanks Andi

Deus on hot, sens up to 94, GB 87, reactivity 2.5, silencer 1. On 11hz
Found at a depth of 10” in red clay soil.

Well done on the find, chap

I can't make out anything much in the squares to be honest. Might be an idea to shine a light at a shallow angle to highlight anything there?

Nice to find pendants, well saved

You're right, I've had it soaking in some Linder Munzen Reiniger over night and the 'beasts' turn out to be just an etched type finish, so it's simply a chequered pattern type. I can't wait for my new glasses to be ready :D

I spent over an hour looking for a match last night and now you say it’s not got beasts on it :o :?

Ok well it depends on the colours then. There’s a few examples in one of the photos in this similar one that was auctioned https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ ... -269158689

Thanks OG, your efforts are appreciated
To me it looks to have a shade of blue to alternate squares.
