After seeing Paint’s post last week about his dump farthing, I realised that I may have found a dump coin myself. Not in the best of conditions, but I think I can make out a date of 172? Maybe a 1 or a 4.
It does have the deep strike. With a diameter of approx 28mm would be a half penny?
Would this date rule it out being dump coinage?
Thanks

I’ve just found this site. Interesting read about copper Hanoverian coins.
So this isn’t a dump coin. Dump coins only minted 1717-18. Have a 172? Date its one of the thinner issued coins.
