It’ll be very interesting to see how it performs in the UK. Guessing though that the ones who get it first will all be chosen to guarantee good reviews, we’ll need to wait a bit longer for the ordinary man/ woman to give their verdicts

Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking
I totally agree, the magazines will never give a honest review because they are dependant on advertising revenue.
The chosen field testers work for the company's involved, so again can not be honest for fear of upsetting the cart.
That is why you end up with just a couple of big players, and poor quality.
I bought my Equinox myself, and have used it now for two and a half years, and can honestly say it has not had an issue in all that time. No broken coil lugs, no wobbly shaft, no issues with the buttons, it has been fantastic.
My only issue was the charging port on the headphones coming adrift, but they were replaced immediately under warranty, so all good there too.
But! I have seen a brand new out of the box Nox 800, that had a terribly wobbly shaft that had to be taped up before it could be used the very first time. Although that was a long time back, and I have not heard of this problem for quite some time now.
Surely real life feedback from real life detectorists is worth its weight in marketing gold, when will the corporate sales teams see this opportunity, and accept it for what it is.

Cue the videos on YouTube and the socials of excited people finding gold staters at 12" on a regular basis

I'm sure it will be another good machine from Garrett, and will do a job.

Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.

Well said....about time we had these sorts of opinions. new machines come out and a lot of people have to have the latest with all sorts of built in extras. the great reviews come along and all of a sudden everyone becomes a sheep and follows the crowd. Luckily for me I have never been a sheep and know exactly what I want in a detector. I won't be giving mine up yet until I see something better, which I haven't yet

I saw this review by Calabash some weeks ago (think it was his review I saw anyway )
Now I know Calabash can be a bit annoying in his reviews with his deep Southern accent and his brash way of saying things which can rub people up the wrong way, but !! I have to give credit where credits due, he does know a good deal about detectors. God knows he obtains and tests them enough to glean in the knowledge , so look in and see for yourselves his verdict on the latest Garrett as he compares it to the Equinox.
(there`s a NOT behind the "play" arrow by the way .)
