Morning folks, Danté from Malton just saying Hi. Been lacking enthusiasm in the fields of late, but had a day out on Thursday with Down to Earth, and got my first Tealby. . Cut half, but still :D
Using the trusty T2 which I've had for about 8 years now  , see no reason to change, so sticking with it.
Some may recognise the moniker Hawkstone from various other forum, for it is I..... ;)
Jerry.

Welcome in to the forums Dante
I think there are a lot of us in the same boat with lack of enthusiasm, hot weather and dry ground, plus the crops...
Hopefully you can get some inspiration and find a few hours to bond with your T2 again.....

I'm sure i recognise the name from other forums, did you have an avatar of a character from League of gentlemen?

hello Dante. i do recognise the other moniker. Does it refer to Hawkstone Park at all?
Enthusiasm comes and goes i find. I have come to the conclusion that a goodly portion of this is to do with personal energy levels. Every bit as much as it is to do with other circumstances like success in the field and weather etc etc.
I think that sometimes it is a good idea to go out and pretend to be enthusiastic....'fake it till you make it' kind of thing.
I am very much of the school of thought that you get a machine you like and enjoy and really mine that seam. I have had some of my machines for many years and persevered with them well after others had 'moved on' to newer technology. It is good to really know your kit before flitting onto a new broom. However, i have also found that sometimes I have hit a bit of a wall and the renewed vigour of a fresh challenge has made a real difference. I had the GMP for many years. long after others had 'moved on and up' to the Deus. i loved the GMP. loyal to it. But.....in the end I realised it would be good to have a fresh impetus and that is when i bought my Nox. glad I did. I have been invigorated. Mind you....in 4 years time the same thing will happen. i won't want to change on one level...but actually i will end up changing or my enthusiasm will dwindle and at my age that may well be the curtain down on detecting altogether.

Allo Dante/Hawkstone. Lovely to have you here

Hope the enthusiasm curve is on the upturn with the Tealby. Strange how a single find can do that, but it does.

Thanks for the welcome :blow kiss:
@ Blackadder, yeah Papa Lazarou is an avatar I use on a few sites
@ Littleboots, I had a Greeves Hawkstone scrambler many years ago which I'm sure was named after Hawkstone Park Circuit.
@ Andy, funnily enough, it was a friend of mine telling me about your finds on Twitter that brought me here. She got the notion that you found the Roman coins in a pot near Crambeck, and was asking me if I knew ya. I guess she put two and two together & got 50

Hi Jerry, I'm Andy. I think you might have been replying to me, ref the Crambeck Roman coin?

Do you happen to have a cousin called Graham?

Forgive me Andy. Been chatting with a guy from Huttos Ambo called Alan, & got his name stuck in me head
I think the pottery was from Crambeck, but the coins elsewhere.
(fixed my error)
