Just a quick thanks to Oxgirl, who invited me out for a couple of hours on her very nice permission this afternoon. I think the field we were on will come alive when it gets damp, but we both found a few odd items, and the heard of cows were friendly.

Friendly? They were positively stalkers and brought with them a cloud of flies. I could cope with the coil licking and the nudging but the flies were not acceptable

We didn’t find that much but Kevin had a nice annular pin and a what was a lovely buckle. We need photos Kevin!
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Just as a side note, I tried my Nox switching between Field 1, multi, field 1, 4khz, and beach mode.
And while it wasn't the best test, I did try each setting over every signal, and on the day on that field, the field 1 program by Fred from MDF, was the more consistent and deepest. And was the only program on this day that could see a 7" .177 air gun pellet👍🤔

I would not expect 4 khz or especially Beach to see it, but Field 2 may also see it as well as Field 1.
Good things come to those who wait.

Enough about Kevin, what about the blessed cows
Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.

From the title of this thread I thought it was a campaign to remove Cath from the forum

I can put up with most things but the flies would have had me off that field within seconds.
