For paypal everybody is given a unique reference number. Use Tony Lynn's e-mail (which Oxgirl will give you) and contact him and he will give you the BACS details and your reference

Hi Bob,

Yes, I've heard a couple say it's a good event, I think I was going to try it last year, but it probably clashed with something.

I understand that the agreed limit for the Anton Rotary Rally on 19/20 September has now been reached, and therefore they are unable to accept further entries.

I hope that anybody interested managed to book, as its a good well organised rally for a good cause.

I had the following from Tony earlier this evening -
This is just to let you know that the rally is all set to go on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th and I will send details of the location and instructions re COVID etc etc.early next week.

The farmer has made some more land available, which is good news as we had to close the list but have opened it to take those on the waiting list and a few more.
Shagybfc, I am GUESSING that you might not of had a reply previously as the list was already full, but it should be worth trying again now that entries have been reopened.

Just received this email from Tony.

" Dear Detectorist,

I am really sorry to have to inform you that as a result of the latest Government COVID rules our farmer has decided he has no choice other than to withdraw his offer of the land.

We were actively looking into whether the new law would permit the Rally to go ahead but the farmer has preempted this and we can fully appreciate his concerns.

SO .... NO RALLY !!!!!!

If you have paid by cheque I will shred it unless you email to ask it be posted back.

If you paid by bank transfer .... please email you Account Name, Sort Code and Account Number and I will make sure your payment is refunded.

(There is also a postal order and a cash and payment and I will make sure you are refunded)

Unless you ask me to do otherwise, I will keep your name and email details on the database and contact you when we are in a position to organise another event .... will be sometime yet methinks !!!

Best wishes,

Tony
Treasurer Anton Rotary Club. "

Disappointed.
As in all detecting, down to the landowner and understand from their perspective.
Oh well.
Dave.

That's a shame as they are a good honest bunch.

I did go last year and it was well organised. I would not have been able to make it this year as I am booked on the detecting 4 veterans rally on the same weekend

A real shame as its a good event for a good cause.

But with how things are at the moment I think its the right move (even if forced on the organisers)
