first detector bought for me by my wife after we came back off our honeymoon feb 1978. c-scope ib [induction balance] . she still say's it was the worst thing she ever did in her life lol. never had a break from detecting but did fine the time to sire four children they must have been day's when the weather was to bad to go out lol. i still get the same buzz from the hobby now as i did when i started. told the wife i want my machine's buried with me when i pass she say's i'm being cremated lol

We're in the home straight in reaching the half-millenium but I reckon there's far more than even that.
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the hobby, and experience will build up as it has for everyone. And the amazing thing about the people on here is that they're all more than willing to share their knowledge, which is what this forum's all about.

36 years (off and on).
Only a few guys that efforts amount to hundreds of years, I'm thinking if the same effort was applied elsewhere we could have had several Richard Branson and Rupert murdochs instead
