Hello everybody
Ray from Sale near Manchester here. Been detecting about three years after giving it a go a few years ago. Retired now. Been out with HARV a few times over last couple of years. Lost my permission three months ago. Land got another owner, not been back to see if I can carry on. Only half a pasture to go, about 5acres. Maybe I'll go back and see if I can carry on. Onwards and downwards

Welcome in Ray
I would certainly go visit the new owner, odds on you were mentioned when things were discussed, you may be pleasantly surprised
Lets hope so

Hello Ray...yes do go and see what the situation is. That is one of the benefits of a site like this...like minded people to give you a bit of push and encouragement. If my own life experience is anything to go by then the current situation is a bit of a blocker. Unfinished business. Find out where you stand and if it is Yay then bonza.....and if it is Nay then at least you know and can focus on getting some new land.

Hi Ray, welcome. Yes do go ask about your old permission because the longer you leave it the harder it will become to ask and the easier for the new owner to say no. Ask, expect the worst then you can't be disappointed and hopefully with our good wishes you will be delighted.

Some great advice above, Ray, and you've nothing to lose by asking where you stand. Hopefully, your fears will prove unfounded and you'll be welcomed back on.
Oh, speaking of welcomes... welcome to the forum
