I love that Phil. very pretty thing indeed and what a loss it would have been. I love it as well because I am a Staffordshire girl.

I know Jan, I was thinking about why it was there where I found it as soon as it was in my hand, a romantic liason was my first thought due to where it was, maybe another Staffs girl getting jiggy with her beau ? ( sorry, couldnt resist  ).

Other thoughts have entered my head though, maybe it was thrown away in grief, anger, remorse when the news came that her man would never return ?
We shall never know, just very glad I happened across it when I did

Was actually found just inside a gateway to a field which I would guess used to be grass Cath, had a lake in it by a big house I think, funny thing was it was the gateway from where the cars were parked on a rally and it was found later in the day, there must of been many hundreds of back and forwards detectorists that day before I found it, just goes to show

I almost forgot to add my latest gold find here to join all these other gold lovelies!
It came from a pasture field that I have previously searched a lot. That day I happened to choose a different route to cross the field on my way back and it was just my second target there!
