An idea of size might help. Certainly very old. What metal do you reckon it is.

The shape and 2 rivets are Saxon 850-1100 so that would be my guess. Here’s a similar one (though obviously with a different design for the decoration) https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts ... /id/978883
