We managed to get out for the first time this season.
Last season was a disaster as we only managed 14 trips out since last August!
To put it into perspective, I've managed to use our Kamado BBQ fourty-six times since January 1 this year :o

The first trip out of the year was a bit of a flop as we only found 2 Roman coins.

We made up for the lack of finds with great results from our day out regarding our new permissions quest.

Stay safe......

Glad it’s not just me! It’s too dry to get any depth and I can only find roman coins too :?
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

I`d love to be able to find a solitary Roman coin never mind, thats all I can find. :D
the last time I found a Roman coin was at a Rally in Burford run by Gary , a few years ago .

Lack of finds is a common theme too! Your not the only one, if that’s any consolation..lol
We need some rain to soften the ground to aid all our searching, wet ground seems to pick up the targets better

Like the scale you use, where can I get one? I’d like to upgrade mine for the pictures

Hi Steve,

The lack of finds was due to the fact that we didn't end up in the field we'd targeted, the landowner suggested another field instead.
We normally find several recordable finds whether the ground is dry or wet but I must admit, damp ground is soooo easy to dig :D

The scales I use were kindly sent to me from someone at the British Museum, there are 15 scales altogether; 9MB in total.
Your FLO may have them, if not drop me a PM

Regards
Paul
