I found the larger of the two items late last year but could not get an ID..

The smaller item on the right came up on the same bit of ground and in the same general area.

Both appear to be a lead alloy of some sort...The black squares on the scale are 1cm so both are fairly small...

Finding the second item made me revisit the first as they must have the same function what ever that may be...

I did wonder if they could be stoppers of some sort?

Agree, or a type of tension weight on old fashioned, manual weaving machines, etc. Or lots of other similar stuff
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Thanks folks,

I have to say they seem very small for plumb bobs?... Plus they only weigh 6.9g and 5.2g respectively.

The "necks" are tiny and you would have trouble tying anything other than very thin cotton on them??

I suppose they could be weights off some sort of hand loom but again they seem very light for that even??

(Definitely need to add a head scratch smiley to the forum! )

I'm presuming they're circular in plan so I'd also go with a weight of some description.

Right, let's lock this topic off and have a mod-only ID post :D

EDIT: Argh! Pete, you norsed it up!
