Found this lead human shape in a neighburs field the other day. It appears to have what looks like flippers rather than feet at base of long body. It suggested mermaid design to me. Anyone any idea what this could be or possible age?
Location is far north Scottish Highlands.

See what you mean about the humanoid shape but I think that's purely coincidental. My immediate thoughts are for a hook of some kind but the general form and the fact that it's lead make that a bit unlikely.

Thats a crazy looking thing . Might have been dropped by the same aliens that built Stonehenge. Love stuff like that .

Yes I see what you mean about a hook but as you say absolutely no strength in it due to thin lead. Curious though eh?

I cant see a practical use for something like this, but if straightened out would have a crude look of a Wicker man...why make it in lead though is beyond me

Strange.
Looks like it was originally some sort of triple pronged thingy and the left hand side has been added to the shortened side tangs.
Question is, how long ago did someone decide to re shape and add to the object ?
It`s a mystery,
Dave.

I'd best watch the skies to see if they return to look for it😉

Here's photos of a second lead item from the same field. This looks more tool shaped to me. Anyone seen anything like this before?
Much appreciate any help.
