Last year with permission on a 1 acre camp field I took about forty quid off it and a couple of silver rings in a few hours, sufficient to cover the camping costs. So back again this time after about ten months it's quite clear that there have been no further takers so it would be rude not to give it another pounding, and it continued to produce better than expected. It seems that there are not many older targets on here though sometimes just the odd deeper pre-decimal or some harness related item shows, but not surprising as it's quite isolated really. It was originally pretty chock full of targets, mainly coins, and there still seems to be a fair few about. I was using the Nox 800 with 15" coil for better ground coverage, reactivity 4 as there were a few busy patches, and FE 2 of 6 to better avoid the bottle tops. The spendables are mainly just 2 to 6" deep so chose to be a bit selective coin shooting to avoid the trash though still dug some other targets just to confirm my guess of them being tent pegs or bottle tops just for fun. The coins proved to be very predictable though pound coins on edge were a jumpy 18/19 rather than their usual 21. Another hint of a pound coin turned out to be a tent peg, but a rescan of the hole did find a pound coin. It's surprising how many pound coins were about but not complaining, again covered the cost of camping for a few nights with another thirty quid or so recovered in about 3hrs. Still lots of targets remain of about 11-13 & 16-19, so maybe even something good in there? I'm sure there will likely even be some gold jewellery about in the lower numbers, so maybe take a different aproach for next time?
The most funniest thing to me about this is that whilst I was first ever detecting it and collecting up the abundant pound coins, another camper drove on site and informed me that I was completely wasting my time as he had previously detected all of this field! So I tried hard not to smile when I then pulled out a couple of silver rings right in front of his camp spot! It's all just good fun! :rollinglaughing:

Glad to see you found enough for the camping, every little helps
Would be interesting for a proper session there to pick out the lower numbers, a lot of foil and ring pulls no doubt being a camping area, but might also be some gold lurking in the depths there

Mind you braver man that i for camping in this weather lol....well done :clapping:

That's almost the same as my wife's definition of camping. As long as it has a king size bed, proper shower room with a jacuzzi bath, aircon, digital TV, tea making facilities and in a 5 star hotel, then we can go camping :D
Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.
