Out on a dig today down near Andover, on 100 acres of well worn stubble, and out in the middle of the field, I find this...

100 acres of stubble, in the middle of nowhere, what the hell was it doing there, and how come something made of plastic gave a good signal  :?

Weird find, that. Looking vaguely familiar, though...

Got it. Bruce before he's had his first cuppa of the day :D

Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking

Are you sure that it was "Bruce" that gave the signal and not something else in the same hole?.

The other day I saw the photo of an old very delicate Chinese bowl that a detectorist had dug (fortunately missing it with the spade!), turns out there was a nail that had given the signal below the bowl.

Twisted fire-starter... :D
I read somewhere, maybe on here, that they used lead in glaze, especially in white / bright colours. Could this have given the signal?
Always carefully proof-read what you've typed to see if you've any words out.

Well that`s different.
Must be some lead in the plastic or ink, pre 1990.
Cheers,

Looks a bit like "Hellboy" with his horns filed down like that!
