Found this today on club dig will put all finds up later :D but this looks very interesting and would have been stunning there are a couple of flecks of gold on the out side of the star :thumbsup: anyone have a idea of what this highly decorative disk was used on?

Thanks Bruce I do like finding these items :D but useless at ID’s :thumbdown: that second one looks very close :thumbsup:

first thought's were part of a cloak fastener but wasn't sure if the nipple was holed. but look's like admin's second suggestion is bang on the money. :thumbsup:

That’s the sort of thing I’d love to find. Just imagine who may have ridden a horse with that sort of emblem on the tack.
To me, and my imagination, it smacks of Crusades and Templar’s. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was older than they say on PAS.

I was thinking the same it must have been someone important to have gold gilt mounts on there horse tack :thumbsup:
