While waiting for a possible ID on my lead token, I thought I’d post up this silver chain that I found today at a beach in Northumberland. It’s modern and probably isn’t worth anything, but I won’t turn my nose up at a piece of silver, especially when everything else found was foil and general rubbish.
Silver chain hallmark for ID.
Good afternoon everyone,
While waiting for a possible ID on my lead token, I thought I’d post up this silver chain that I found today at a beach in Northumberland. It’s modern and probably isn’t worth anything, but I won’t turn my nose up at a piece of silver, especially when everything else found was foil and general rubbish.
I don’t know how much it weighs as I don’t have an electric set of scales here, but it was found half obscured by sand. (Would that make it a 1/2 eyes only find??
) Anyway, the hallmarks on the clasp are so tiny that the attached photo had to be taken by my dad and his micro camera. Can you identify it?? I hope you’re all having a lovely day. Enjoy.

On the photo with hallmark, if that is copper showing through, assume it could be Silver plate.
Hopefully i am wrong..
Well spotted,
Dave.

I see what you’re referring too. Don’t worry, it’s purely a reflection from my dads hands. He had to be quite close to take the photo.Dave The Slave wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 5:20 pm On the photo with hallmark, if that is copper showing through, assume it could be Silver plate.
