Normal session inland is 4hrs max, which normally gets achieved. Limited by travelling time and needing to be home for a certain time.
Beach being 5 minutes away, depends on time of day, during summer, first light to 8am, when the beach goers turn up, so perhaps 3.5hrs to 2hrs. During winter 2-4hrs on a desolate beach. Straight detecting all the way, no tea breaks etc.
Cheers,
Dave.

Anything from around 4 to 7ish hours, often the latter though.

If I had fields that produced lots of good finds, I wouldn't be out as long as I often seem to be. The downside to doing 7 hours or so, at least for me, are the neckache's later in the evening and sometimes the day after too.

Do we have to put more effort in up North? :D

We normally spend at least 8-hours per session and that's after up to 3-hours travelling each way.

However, if we're not finding much, we cut it right back and use the rest of the time calling in on new permissions.

In winter, we use all of the available daylight.

If I do too many seven hour sessions, I end up with a earache! 🙄🙄

Usually 5 to 6 hrs for me , I know it's time to call it a day when I start not digging slightly iffy targets. Although a cheeky couple of hours sneaked in can often prove as productive.

Generally 3-5 hours. No less than 2 hours if it is an hour each way. I generally seem to cover 1 mile in an hour if the fields are fairly quiet.

It will be so funny if a post appears on this thread from Mrs Alloverover. :rollinglaughing: :shh:
