I have just noticed that you can generate 3d views on https://houseprices.io/lab/lidar/map

Click on a point, then select 3d view and it gives a 1 km square movable 3d view.

So how do you use that? Is there anyway to have a conventional map over lay?

No. There is no overlay. You can search for a place and it should take you to there but as you can see there are big gaps. Then you can tap a place and get options for different maps, grid reference and the option for 3d

Thanks for that, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious!

Playing around with it last night it seems you can search on a full national grid reference (in the format AA0123456789) and it will take you direct to the spot if there is coverage...

I have not really had any luck finding anything interesting on my permissions with LIDAR, but things like barrows/burial mounds do show up well if present...

I have been having a play and I have noticed that the 3D images are newer than the 2D images. For instance there was a pond dug in one of my fields which isn't on the 2D but is on the 3D. Also for places like London, there are purple areas on 2D which can be turned in to 3D like Kings Cross station. So may be worth clicking your purple areas to see if the 3D image appears. Not working for my permissions but might for yours.

And just for fun and to show how impressive it is, here is the Millennium Dome in 3D.
