Last artefact I found was a spindle whorl, 1st artefact yesterday and another one lol think the hammered gods have deserted me, though this Charles II copper farthing 1673 is a tad toasted, it was covered in a thick layer of crud, and nearly ended up in the bin but persevered and was surprised to see it was Charles II, a 1st for me, iv had worse days lol

Your 1673 Farthing is not so bad. At least you have been able to make out the date and the obverse is pretty good with his portrait, some nicely raised lettering. Would be pleased to find that.
Cheers,
Dave.

The coin doesn't look bad at all considering it's age, the spindle whorl is a nice find too.

I thought when i 1st found it, it might be a George I Farthing as i could just see the Britannia figure on the reverse, I spent the best part of last night trying to get the crud off, and yeah was quite chuffed with it, always nice to find something differentDave The Slave wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 1:29 pm Your 1673 Farthing is not so bad. Yes please! Never had anything named after me before, other than an unfortunate body odour

Nothing meagre about that spindle whorl! I’d be delighted with that find!
Yes I really don’t like Roman coins, I’m not joking
