I am thinking this may be a bag seal due to the holes at each end but can’t find anything similar, or could it be something else?
Its lead and weighs 17.73 grams

Thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

Interesting find! My first thought was that it was one of those net weights used for fishing nets or rabbit snares but with a bit of the mould over spill left on, rather than snipped off :D

Or something else

Sorry Steve but I do not think its a bagseal.

Firstly no sign of a join where the 2 parts are folded over and joined.
Secondly no indication of any markings on it.
Thirdly the bag seals I have found have been so tightly closed that you can not see a hole through them.

Slightly strange shape for it being a weight for a fishing or rabbit net as suggested by Oxgirl, but I agree with her about it being a weight of some type although I have no idea what!

Given that lead was the all purpose fix it material back in the day....easy to melt, mold and re-use....I wonder if it may be a make-shift/ replacement pommel for a knife?

Think I have solved this mystery, thanks to StuE and the bag seal gallery

While researching a bag seal I stumbled across this........................

Lead weights sealed to twisted wire attached to glass eyes use in doll manufacture. Allows them to close when doll is laid on its back.
The separated lead weights are often mistaken for blank seals that have not yet been stamped.
