Hi all,
I was quite active on this amazing forum but have not detected at all this year due to an unexpected family death and then acquiring a knee injury.
Happily, I managed to escape to the fields for an hour today and, boy, it was good to be back.
To my delight, I turned up a beautiful acorn belt mount and then this short cross hammered. I think it’s a John but not sure. It’s certainly the best condition short cross whole penny I’ve found, and I was bouncing around the field!
Any further detail or information would be gratefully appreciated as always:
Apologies for the terrible photos, I’m out of practice at close up shots.
I hope everyone is having fun on the fields now that the weather has cooled down. Best wishes.
John (?) short cross for ID please

Allectus! You’re still here, thank goodness. Have you been awarded an MBE yet
Thank you so much for the ID. I only have one full Richard penny in much worse condition, so I am so thrilled with this, I can’t tell you. Huge thanks again for your services
