Hi all
Could you please help ID these, they are worn but I know there are individuals on here who excel at this, I would appreciate your input thanks in advance :thumbsup: ps the reverse of the Roman seems to have a seated person

Brilliant thanks Alectus … so it’s an Eddy 1st Penny , when you say Zappage I guess you mean ultrasonic cleaner? :thumbsup:

He means electrolysis. I’ve never tried it myself but there’s a good coin under that crust :thumbsup:

Nero Denarii are unusual finds so if you are to use electrolysis, please take it very slowly as to not cause any further damage to the coin.

Electrolysis has many uses but the type used here is basically one to clean 🤓. You’ve a lovely silver coin under that layer of oxidisation and dirt. You could soak it in lemon juice (viscous in my view so I don’t recommend it) or soaked in distilled water and then mechanically cleaned with a wooden toothpick (works but takes weeks). Or just leave it.

Alectus, i googled Fourree id never heard the word it says fake, forgery the denarius gives off an extremely strong sulphurous smell indicating silver could it still be fake ? Cheers feller
